Supply channels, sell subscriptions, or send your data anywhere. There is no account and no analytics.

Getting started

Three steps from download to picture

No configuration files, no engine to pick, no server to run.

Add a playlist
Pick Xtream and enter host, username and password — or switch to URL and paste an M3U link, or to File and open a playlist from disk. Naming the playlist is optional.
CH 02
Find your channels
Search by name, narrow the list with the group chips your provider supplies, and star the channels you actually watch. Favourites collect in their own tab.
CH 03
Watch
Click a channel to play it. The ⊞ button next to any channel adds it to Multiview instead, where up to four streams run side by side.

The channel list

Seventeen thousand channels, still usable

Providers hand out lists nobody can scroll. Search and the group chips your provider supplies run as database queries, so the list narrows as fast as you can type. Star what you actually watch and it collects in a favourites tab that spans every playlist you have added.

The ⊞ button on each row sends that channel to Multiview instead of playing it.

Library

Search that keeps up with 17,000 channels

Search and group filters run in the database, not in memory. Type a name, tap a group chip, and the list responds immediately — even on the oversized channel lists Xtream panels tend to hand out.

Favourites that survive a refresh

Star a channel anywhere and it shows up in one tab across every playlist. Refreshing a remote playlist matches favourites by their tvg-id, so a provider reordering their list does not wipe your selection.

Xtream logins that work with strict panels

Many panels block get.php and HLS. Mika+Player builds the channel list through player_api.php instead, pulling categories and live streams directly. MPEG-TS is the default output format for exactly that reason.

Playback

Two engines, picked automatically

AVKit handles HLS and everything else Apple decodes natively. Raw MPEG-TS — which AVPlayer cannot open at all — goes to VLCKit. The choice happens per stream, based on the URL. You never pick an engine.

Picture in Picture

Send the stream into the system PiP window and keep watching while you work. On iPhone and iPad it starts on its own when the app moves to the background.

Hands on the keyboard

Space plays and pauses, arrow keys and +/− set the volume in 5% steps, M mutes, F goes full screen, P opens Picture in Picture, Esc comes back. On-screen feedback confirms each one, then disappears.

System

Updates that install themselves

The Mac app checks for new versions through Sparkle and verifies every update with an EdDSA signature before installing. No package manager, no re-download from a web page.

Sign in with Xtream Codes credentials, paste an M3U or M3U8 link, or open a playlist file from disk. Mika+Player also registers as a handler for .m3u files, so double-clicking one opens it here.

Multiview · macOS

Up to four streams, in a window of their own

Add channels with the ⊞ button in the channel list. Focus layout keeps one stream large with the rest as small tiles; grid layout gives every stream the same size. Only the focused stream plays sound, so four matches at once do not turn into noise.

What it needs

macOS 14 Sonoma or later

Universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. Distributed as a disk image, not through the App Store.

A playlist of your own

Xtream credentials, an M3U link or a local file. To try the app without a subscription, any public M3U list will do.

iPhone and iPad

The app is written for both platforms and builds for iOS 17. There is no distributed iOS version yet — for now the Mac app is the one you can install.
