Multiview, rebuilt on this page. Click a small tile and the border, the sound and the large picture move to it. In version 1.1 the picture follows for HLS streams; after a click, an MPEG-TS stream (the Xtream default) can stay black in the large tile while its sound plays, until you switch to grid and back.
You bring
An Xtream Codes login from your provider, an M3U link, or a playlist file. Whatever you already subscribe to.
The app adds
Search, group filters, favourites across playlists, two playback engines and a Multiview window. Your library is kept on your Mac — no account, no cloud.
It never does
Supply channels, sell subscriptions, or send anything to the people who make it — no telemetry, no analytics. It talks to the servers your playlist names and to GitHub for updates; the privacy page says exactly what goes where.
Getting started
No configuration files, no engine to pick, no server to run.

Pick Xtream and enter host, username and password — or switch to URL and paste an M3U link, or to Datei (file) and open a playlist from disk. Naming the playlist is optional.
CH 02
Search by name, narrow the list with the group chips your provider supplies, and star the channels you actually watch. Favourites collect in their own tab.
CH 03
Click a channel to play it. The ⊞ button next to any channel adds it to Multiview instead, where up to four streams run side by side.

Channels
The channel list
Providers hand out lists nobody can scroll. Type a name or pick one of the group chips your provider supplies, and the list narrows to what matches. On a list that size, version 1.1 does pause: in our measurements with 17,000 channels, opening the list froze the app for up to 0.9 seconds, and the first letter typed, clearing the search or deselecting a group chip for 0.3 to 0.6 seconds. Star what you actually watch and it collects in a favourites tab that spans every playlist you have added.
The ⊞ button on each row sends that channel to Multiview instead of playing it.
What it does
Search and the channel filter run as database queries, so even the oversized lists Xtream panels hand out stay searchable. Version 1.1 still pauses on lists that size: opening one takes up to about a second, and importing 17,000 channels takes several minutes.
Star a channel in the list and it shows up in one Favourites tab across every playlist. After a refresh, a favourite keeps its star if the channel comes back with the same tvg-id — or, if it has none, the same name. If the provider changes that id or name, the star is gone, and channels that share one all get the star.
Many panels block get.php and HLS. Mika+Player builds the channel list through player_api.php instead, pulling categories and live streams directly. MPEG-TS is the default output format for exactly that reason.
AVKit handles HLS and everything else Apple decodes natively. Raw MPEG-TS — which AVPlayer cannot open at all — goes to VLCKit. The choice happens per stream, based on the URL. You never pick an engine.
Space plays and pauses, arrow keys and +/− set the volume in 5% steps, M mutes, F switches to full screen and Esc leaves it. Play/pause, volume and mute show a short on-screen confirmation, then it disappears.
The Mac app looks for a new version automatically, about once a day, and asks before installing it — unless you let Sparkle install future updates on its own. Every update is verified with an EdDSA signature first. No package manager, no re-download from a web page.
Sign in with Xtream Codes credentials, paste an M3U or M3U8 link, or open a playlist file from inside the app. Double-clicking a playlist in Finder does not import it in version 1.1.
Multiview · macOS
Add channels with the ⊞ button in the channel list. Focus layout keeps one stream large with the rest as small tiles; grid layout gives every stream the same size. Only the focused stream plays sound, so four matches at once do not turn into noise.

Before you download
Universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. Distributed as a disk image, not through the App Store. The app's interface is in German.
Xtream credentials, an M3U link or a local file. To try the app without a subscription, any public M3U list will do.
The app is written for both platforms and builds for iOS 17. There is no distributed iOS version yet — for now the Mac app is the one you can install.
